Technical Support

Click Here to update to the latest version of Scripture Solitaire to run on Windows XP. This is only needed for very old versions of Scripture Solitaire.

On some systems, Truthware has had problems with installation. If this happens to you, right-click on the Truthware CD-ROM icon and select "Explore".
You should be able to directly run (double-click on it):
"SetupGodspeed.exe" to install Godspeed,
"SetupOneNation.exe" to install One Nation Under God,
"SetupSol.exe" to install Scripture Solitaire, and
"SetupSword.exe" to install The Sword Project.
Note the "Extras" folder that contains some Windows background screens and .mp3 music.

Other problems may be caused by out-of-date video drivers (click here to get the latest video drivers), low graphics memory, or system errors. Windows XP is getting very large, and experts say that 128 MB is not really enough for both the operating system and graphics programs. They recommend 256 MB.

GodSpeed 3D requires DirectX 8 or later. All other programs need DirectX 7 or later.

You can perform a simple test of your computer's graphics by running dxdiag from the Windows Run... command (in the Start menu).

Other than that, there are no known bugs.

Adding your own verses to Scripture Solitaire

Location

Put your scripture collection file in the “Verses” folder.

File Format

Your scripture collection must be in ASCII text format, and must have the .txt extension. The file has one line per verse with a single period on a line by itself after the last verse. The verse is broken up into 13 phrases with a vertical bar ( | ) after each phrase. The first phrase is normally the verse reference. The vertical bar is normally found on the \ key above the Enter key. Do not put spaces around the phrases next to the vertical bars. You may have up to 300 verses in a file.

Example:

John 3:16|For God|so loved|the world,|that he gave|his only|begotten Son,|that whosoever|believeth in him|should not|perish,|but have|everlasting life.|

  • Remember to put a vertical bar after the last phrase in the verse.

  • Make sure that each verse is really on one line each.

  • Don’t forget the period at the end of the file.

  • Make sure that you actually save the file in the text file format and not .doc or .rtf (Word prefers these formats, and you have to specifically tell it to save your work as .txt file format, not just the extension).

Testing

After you have created your file and placed it in the Verses folder, it should show up in the options menu under the “Verse Collections” option. Select your new verse collection, and play a game. In the game, press Ctrl-Alt-T (hold down the Ctrl key and the Alt key at the same time and press the “t” key). You should see a complete set of cards in the upper left corner of the screen. Press enter to go to the next verse. This allows you to scan through your verses looking for problems. It also warns you if you have duplicate phrases.

Uses

You can use Scripture Solitaire to learn quotes, your statement of faith, famous documents, your house rules, or a section of text of about the right length. Share them with your friends. Send them to us at solitaire@inspiredidea.com and we will (probably) post them on our web site.
